www.HipHopRX.com has learned that rapper Coolio has been released on $10,000 bail on felony charges of drug possession. As previously reported, rapper Coolio was arrested on yesterday (Mar. 6) at the LAX airport after reportedly getting into a scuffle with an airport screener.

Rapper Coolio, real name Artis Levo Ivey, Jr, 45, was set to board a Southwest Airlines flight to Tulsa, Oklahoma for a scheduled performance at the Flytrap Music Hall with Tone Loc and Shock G of The Digital Underground when illegal drugs were found on his possession while going through a security screening.

Though authorities would not confirm what kind of narcotics the rapper had on him, celebrity gossip site TMZ reports it was crack cocaine.

www.HipHopRX.com has learned that Coolio was later released on $10,000 bail, as previously mentioned, and, according to sources, is set to appear in court on April 3, 2009.

The veteran rapper, Coolio, is most known for his 1990’s hit singles “Fantastic Voyage” off his debut album “It Takes a Thief” and song/album “Gangsta’s Paradise.”
