Eminem aka Slim Shady album release date for ‘Relapse’ has been announced after having fans awaiting for a new project since the album Encore released in 2004.

The highly anticipated album “Relapse” has been scheduled for release on May 19th. In addition to the announcement, Eminem is stated to be already working on a follow-up album, Relapse 2 which is due for release at the end of 2009.

At the end of ’08 an unfinished track titled “Number One” hit the net which had the rapper rapping the verse for Dr. Dre’s part. In January, the track made it’s way back online under the title “Crack A Bottle” which managed to hit #78 on the Hot Billboard 100 singles chart.

Eminem is quoted as saying in a press release, “A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year. I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff.”

At the end of February, the rapper’s manager released a video still for Eminem’s music video which is believed to be “Crack A Bottle”. However, according to reports, the first single from the album and video is expected to be released on April 7th and “Crack A Bottle” will reportedly be added on 50 Cent’s “Before I Self Destruct.”
