He does not desever to be loved again. But if that is your choice so be it. I mean no one can not make you love him anymore. I mean I loved somebody one time and then they punched me in the stomache and I hated him for the rest of the school year until I realised that it was worth it. I loved him. So you can go on with your life with him if you choose to and that is your decition. I mean it was love at first site for you and Chris but I mean that is your choice.
