Chris Brown releases statement; says he’s ‘sorry’ and ‘seeking counseling’

Chris Brown Apologizes, seeks counseling and says he’s ‘sorry and saddened’ over what happened between him and girlfriend Rihanna.

In an official statement released by R&B singer Chris Brown’s public relations representatives, the 19-year-old performer, who has been hiding in silence since being arrested and bailed out for an alleged assault against his girlfriend Rihanna, claims media and blog reports have been wrong about him.

“Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong,” Chris Brown said in the statement.

Although Brown didn’t make any mention about his father, who on Friday told People magazine that his son was “very remorseful,” he did say he too was “sorry and saddened” over what happened and is now seeking counseling.

“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired,” stated Brown.

“I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person,” he added.

While everyone is pondering on what exactly transpired between the celebrity couple, referring to Chris Brown and Rihanna, Brown could only voice that he has not been the one posting on Facebook and he wishes he could say more.

“While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds,” Brown expresses in his statement.

Chris Brown is scheduled to appear before court on March 5th, 2009 on suspicion of attacking his girlfriend, pop star Rihanna before the night that the two were scheduled to appear at the Grammy’s which both cancelled due to the alleged assault. The R&B superstar may be facing felony charges of domestic assault and more.
