Iraqi Journalist Slings Shoes At President Bush

President George Bush made a surprise visit in Iraq earlier but wasn’t welcomed, at least by one journalist who threw his pair of shoes at the President during a press conference Sunday, December 14, 2008. It happened while Bush was standing next to Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

President Bush dodged one shoe then another shoe as the man screamed at Bush who used his combat skills to dodge each thrown shoe.

Afterwards, Bush laughed about the incident saying, “that was a size ten shoe he threw at me you may want to know.”

Bush proceeded to get back to business.

The Iraqi journalist was immediately detained by security but apparently not before White House Press Secretary Dana Perino is stated to have gotten hit beneath her eye with a microphone. She is stated to be ok after the struck.

As the journalist, who threw the shows at President Bush, was escorted to another room, reporters reportedly could still hear the man screaming out through the doors.
