Black Eyed Peas music artist and producer will.i.am premiered his track, “It’s A New Day,” on the Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday, November 7, 2008 following Barack Obama’s win over John McCain for U.S. President-Elect on November 4th. The song “It’s A New Day” follows behind his previous song supporting the campaign of President-Elect Barack Obama “Yes We Can”, which he released in January 2008 that was directed by Jesse Dylan.

“Yes We Can,” lyrics was composed mostly of excerpts from Obama’s speech on January 8, 2008, following the New Hampshire presidential primary election and featured appearances from numerous celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson, Tatyana Ali, John Legend, Herbie Hancock, Hill Harper, Amber Valletta, Aisha Tyler, Nicole Scherzinger, Nick Cannon, Bryan Greenberg, Common, amongst others. The video first appeared on the website of Dipdive, and managed to pull in over three million views its first week, and over four million views on YouTube’s video site.

In other news, Will.i.am lent his voice to the animation movie “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” which was released in theaters on November 7th. Will.i.am plays as the hippo Moto Moto and serves as a potential mate for Gloria voiced by actress Jada Pinkett Smith. Will.i.am will also be starring in the 2009 movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine in which he plays John Wraith/Kestrel a teleporting mutant who becomes a Weapon X test subject. X-Men Origins: Wolverine will be Will.i.am’s first film debut.
