R&B singer/producer R. Kelly was awarded $3.4 million in damages in a judgment after tour promoter Leonard Rowe owner of Rowe Entertainment allegedly defaulted on obligations and failed to pay the R&B star millions of dollars in the “Double Up” tour proceeds on last year and earlier this year. According to Kelly, he decided to complete the tour not to upset fans, inturn performing free for many of the tour dates.

Lil Wayne is working on Tha Carter IV and a new mixtape “Dedication 3″ which will be part of DJ Drama’s Gangsta Grills series. After releasing “Dedication 3″ mixtape, Wayne states he will be re-releasing it with 20 extra songs for free on his Web site.

Currently there’s speculation and rumors going around that 50 Cent may be putting the microphone down after revealing that he will continue acting and will have a role in the movie “Dead Man Running.” The rapper tells BBC about the role he plays stating, “It’s about one guy who basically gets in a serious bit of trouble with a real gangster and he’s got one day to live or he’s going to get ironed out if he doesn’t raise the funds.”

MTV (Music Television) has teamed up with Sean “Diddy Combs” (Bad Boy) and Mark Burnet to search for the next American music star in a new reality television series titled “Starmaker”. Combs who has been developing the show concept since ’07 recently brought on Burnett this spring in effort to push the show forth and was given the green light for January of ’09.

T.I., the self-proclaimed “King of The South,” will be performing tonight for free at the Key Club in Los Angeles, CA at 8:30 PM. Only 200 tickets will be given out for the show and they will be available for pickup from 10 AM – 1PM for ages 15+ today. No early line-up will be permitted for the show and admittance will be based on first-come, first-served.
