Both the Inquirer.net and Sun.Star Manila reported that according to Nixon Sy, audio marketing unit head of the young singer’s Philippine label Star Records, Oprah Winfrey has agreed to manage Pempengco’s US career.

It is stated that Winfrey will dedicate a full episode on her TV show to Pempengco, as well as arrange Hollywood performances for the singer.

According to her own website, producers of the Oprah show pulled the teen singer off her plane which was headed back to the Philippines after her appearance on The Oprah Show and brought her back to Harpo Studios at which Oprah called on legendary producer David Foster to see what he could do for the rising young starlet.

Charice has since appeared onstage with pop icon Celine Dion on occasion and on Monday night, Sept. 15, at the Madison Square Garden, the young singer reportedly became the first Filipino performer to sing a duet with her.
