Music producer Scott Storch is in the hot seat over a home loan. Manager and record label executive, David Menefield, owner of the LA Confidential label, won a judgment against producer Scott Storch for failing to pay back a loan to prevent his home from going into foreclosure in 2003. Menefiled filed the lawsuit in May ‘07 against the producer. (more…)

The CW network silently cancelled the 8 year-old series “Girlfriends” which gave the world 172 episodes. More than a week ago, Monday night was the last two episodes which had no farewell and no finale. Reportedly, cast members were notified by telephone by the creator Mara Brock Akil that the network decided to end the show. (more…)

This past Wednesday night (February 20), rapper Snoop Dogg was busted with marijuana in front of a Manhattan nightclub. The rapper wasn’t arrested but was issued a desk appearance ticket, when police caught him in possession of the marijuana.

Snoop is no newbie to run-ins with the law, the rapper was convicted of cocaine possession in 1990 and plead guilty to gun possession in 1997.

In 2006, Snoop was arrested in three separate incidents at various airports and in April 2007 Snoop plead no contest to felony gun and marijuana charges stemming from an arrest at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California where he was sentenced to probation and community service.

Snoop’s lawyer, Donald Etra, told the New York Post that he plans to contest this recent ticket for possession of marijuana.

Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige announced their special 25-date co-headlining North American Tour, entitled “Mary J. Blige & Jay-Z: Heart of the City Tour” which is being produced by Live Nation and Haymon Events. The tour will be starting March 22nd at the American Airlines Arena in Miami and will make its round in a number of states and countries such as New Jersey, Canada, North Carolina and others. Entrepreneur, music executive and rapper Jay-Z has been elected as the chairman of the new advertising agency Translation Advertising which is part of Translation Consultation and Brand Imaging owned by Steve Stoute.

According to numerous reports Stoute and Jay-Z are both owners of the company, maintaining 51% of the company, and the other 49% is owned by Translation’s parent company which is Interpublic Group. (more…)
