Bay Area Rapper Spice 1 Shot, In Critical Condition

According to reports, rapper Spice 1 (Robert L. Green Jr) who was first discovered by Too Short and is considered a legend in the Bay Area was shot twice in Hayward, California early yesterday morning. Spice 1 was an artist formerly signed to Jive Records (1991-1999), but reportedly left due to the label wanting him to clean up his image.

Reports state that Spice 1 was shot twice while police say he was only struck once. Sources say he was shot once in the chin and another time in the chest, which missed his heart by inches. Although the rapper in serious condition, his manager, Six, stated he is expected to pull through.

Spice 1 has worked with a number of artists which include Yukmouth, UGK, Devin the Dude, MC Eiht, 2Pac, Method Man, Redman, Kurupt, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Three 6 Mafia, Too $hort, Eightball and MJG, E-40, Mack 10, and Ice-T among many others.
