Lil Flip Claims Innocence In Credit Card Fraud Charges

After posting bail and appearing in court on July 23, Lil Flip (Wesley Weston) claims that he is innocent after being accused of using a stolen credit card to purchase an airline ticket. His attorney/manager released a statement Monday calling the charges “complete nonsense.”

“Flip is squeaky clean and the charges “will quickly disappear,” stated his attorney and manager, Sandy Lal.

“Flip had absolutely no involvement with any sort of credit card fraud,” said Lal. “He never personally handles any travel arrangements, that is left to promoters and travel agents. Any wrongdoing of any sort is clearly in their hands. It’s unfortunate that Flip was a victim to this charade and his name has been tied to this situation due to his celebrity status. Nevertheless, we are in the midst of negotiations for various ventures including a multi million-dollar relaunch of his Lucky Nites cognac.”

Criminal attorney, Stanley Schneider stated that Lil Flip “nor anyone associated with him had any knowledge that a stolen credit card was being used by a person hired to arrange his travel. A complete investigation will easily show that Lil Flip is innocent of all charges and is actually a victim of a scam.”

The rapper is scheduled to appear back in court on August 16.

Lil Flip may have been hit with a scam “identity theft” similar to Halle Berry, Ashanti, and Mariah Carey. Whatever the case may be, the culprit will be traced by authorities.
