Kelly Rowland Collapses During Performance In Africa
Former Destiny’s Child singer, Kelly Rowland born Kelendria Trene Rowland, collapsed on stage during a show in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday. The singer was taken to a local hospital in Africa where she was treated and released. Kelly Rowland reportedly collapsed due to dehydration.
The singer is currently on the road to promote her album, “Ms Kelly” and was in West African at the ThisDay Music Festival.
According to her rep Yvette Noel-Schure, Kelly is back on her feet and in good condition and added that she is on her way back to to the US to continue promotion for her sophomore album “Ms. Kelly”.
The album debuted at number 6 on the Billboard 200 and number two on the U.S. Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The album sold 83,746 copies its first week of release.
In other news, Kelly Rowland will be acting in the movie “Mama, I Want to Sing!,” starring singer Ciara, Patti LaBelle, and Lynn Whitfield which started filming in June. Other cast members include Ne-Yo, Kim Porter, Bobby Valentino, Ralph Tresvant and others. The movie is due for release in mid-February of 2008.
