Remy Ma Wanted For Questioning, Could Face Charges Of Attempted Murder
Rapper Remy Ma (Remynisce Smith), who’s most known for being a former artist of Terror Squad and for her appearance on the song “Lean Back,” is reportedly being sought for questioning by police due to a shooting that took place early Saturday in New York near the Pizza Bar at 48 Ninth Ave after a mutual friend’s birthday party. The New York Police Department spokesperson states that at around 3:14 a.m. a 23 year-old black woman named Makeda Barnes-Joseph was shot in her lower torso at the corner of 14th and Washington Streets in Manhattan, NY by another black woman in her 20′s.
Remy Ma was stated to have been with a group of people outside the Pizza Bar when a fight broke out in which Makeda Barnes-Jospeh was accused of stealing $2,000 from her. Just when Makeda Barnes-Joseph stepped foot into her Nissan Maxima, Remy Ma reportedly got out of a Cadillac Escalade and pulled open the driver’s side door of the Maxima and shot Barnes-Joseph twice.
A few blocks away from the crime scene, a Cadillac Escalade registered to Remy Ma crashed into a parked car which was occupied by Remy Ma and three men. Witnesses state that the rapper fled on foot. Police have already started questioning those who were there in her entourage at the time.
Remy Ma was discovered by the late big Pun in the 1990′s in which she then became a member of Fat Joe’s Terror Squad. Due to irreconcilable differences, she later left.
Remy Ma reportedly fled the scene and is still at large. If found guilty of shooting Makeda Barnes-Joseph, Remy Ma could face charges of attempted murder.
In the midst of this new controversy, Remy Ma also sparked a bit of controversy recently with a cover of her new mixtape entitled “Shesus Khrist” profiling the rapper hanging from a cross half-naked.
