Asian Female Rapper Kim
Asian female rapper Kim born Quach Cam Le, 16, has had her song “Choi Het Minh” (Enjoy Your Life and Do Your Best) selected by Nike Southeast Asia as the official song for the Asian Cup 2007 football tournament which started over the weekend in Thailand according the Viet Nam News.

“The song’s message is to try your best to face challenges and enjoy life,” said 16-year-old Kim. “I also want to share my thoughts with other Vietnamese and foreign players who’ve overcome obstacles to reach success,” she told the paper.

The young rapper who stated that she began her hip-hop and R&B music career when she was 13, is one of the youngest rappers in the Ha Noi market to perform for some of the biggest music programs and television shows in Ha Noi and HCM City.

According to the paper, the young 16 year-old said she learned to create new rap and R&B songs in Vietnamese instead of English. “I feel happy composing songs for my peers. No one knows better what songs teenagers want to hear than I do,” she said.

Kim reportedly has signed a three-year exclusive contract with the music and entertainment company Minh Nam.

“Some people think I’m too young to follow my dreams. But I think no one is too young or too old to do anything in life.”

In related news, Kim is preparing for her second album Vol2.Kim featuring rap in Vietnamese.

“I will try my best to make this kind of music popular among youth.”
