BET Awards 2007 Best Moments and Performances

The BET 2007 Awards Show jumped off ‘proper’ … in the beginning you can see 50 Cent and Ciara seated next to each other as though they are a new hot celebrity couple, as previously reported. Starting things out, boxing ring announcer Michael Buffer who shouted, “Are you ready to jiggle?,” introduced BET Awards 2007 host, comedian Mo’Nique (Parkers, Charm School) who represented the ‘Big Girls’ or as she puts it ‘Phat Girls’ with her major, major intro following the outstanding performance by Jennifer Hudson who performed “Tell You” alongside original performer, legendary singer Jennifer Holiday. Beyonce got much love from host Mo’Nique who referred to the singer as “The Queen”.

T.I. did his thing live with “Big Things Poppin’. He showed respect by giving love to rapper L.L. Cool J., and others. One guy was left hanging though with his hand out expecting T.I. to give him ‘five’ but the rapper didn’t respond leaving the guy hanging.

3rd Annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival Ends With Praises

Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival
The 3rd Annual Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival which is a free outdoor event and spans over 5 days in the month of June, recently held its final day on June 23, 2007 headlined by Wu-Tang MC “Ghostface” at the Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge. The event produced by Brooklyn Bodega, The Room Service Group and Seven Heads Entertainment is aimed at celebrating Hip-Hop culture and music. Some of the artists which were part of the lineup included Ghostface, Fat Joe, Heltah Skeltah, Sean Price, Skillz, Smif N Wessun, and others. Check out some of the photos.

R. Kelly, Michael Jackson and Others Suing Jay-Z’s Nightclub 40/40

According to reports, R. Kelly, (Wacko Jacko) Michael Jackson and others are suing Jay-Z’s nightclub 40/40 in New York for breaking music licensing laws. More than a dozen people have already filed a federal lawsuit against 40/40 due to entertaining patrons with unauthorized public performance of musical compositions.
